Henri joined 2IP in November 2021 as a quantitative analyst with the aim of leveraging his engineering background and passion for investments to streamline systems and processes within the business. His innate understanding of complex systems, combined with the discipline and team-centric values developed through competitive sport, enabled him to quickly establish himself within the firm.

His role evolved into asset class and asset manager research, initially with a particular focus on global strategies. In this capacity, he uncovered numerous new investment ideas and contributed meaningfully to broadening the firm’s investable universe by identifying and evaluating global strategies for potential inclusion.

Over time, his responsibilities were redefined to that of Portfolio Manager, reflecting his active participation across the entire investment process. In this role, Henri oversees and contributes across all asset classes and geographies. His responsibilities include asset allocation, manager selection, portfolio construction, risk management and ongoing portfolio monitoring to ensure portfolios remain aligned with both long-term strategic objectives and intermediate tactical asset allocation tilts.

Henri completed his B.Eng. in Industrial Engineering from Stellenbosch University in March 2020. He further strengthened his financial and accounting expertise through the completion of a B.Acc degree from Boston City Campus in 2025. His academic background, combined with his analytical training and practical investment experience, underpins his structured, disciplined and research-driven approach to portfolio management.
